Thank you Emma for letting us share your lovely home. We have barely moved other then from the pool to your exquisite garden, very lazy but well needed rest from manic life and work. I go back inspired with trying my hand at mosaics(but on a rather smaller scale)!

The best place in Gaucin

Tagine and Mosaic
From: JaPeter & Marilyn, Stoke UK
Date of Stay: May 2017

Behind high walls in the more modern and unassuming part of Gaucin, near the Ronda road, lies a big surprise...Casa Mosaica. Its two-bedroom apartment is the ground-floor part of the big house, making it flow naturally into the surrounding gardens, with large swimming pool, fountains, and of course, many stunning mosaics. And as you step through the threshold, you realise that you're not just in Andalucia's most breathtaking hilltop village; you're somehow also in Morocco. It's all around you, inside and out, full of decorative details in the hallways, bedrooms and ensuites, with stand-out features like the full-length mosaic frieze of ancient geese in the kitchen. Stunning, but also comfortable and relaxing.

So thank you, Emma, for creating this unique oasis, and letting us experience it for a while. I've been coming to Gaucin almost every year since 1998, staying in many different village properties, at different seasons. But to see and walk in these gardens in May is something special, that lifts this Moroccan dream.

A magical oasis

This was our eighth visit to Gaucin but the first time we have stayed at Casa Mosaica and I wish we had discovered it earlier. It is a true oasis in the heart of the village, close to all amenities and restaurants yet secluded and private.

Emma has created a cosseting space for a truly relaxing holiday, and is a consummate host, not intrusive at all yet there if you need her, with her wealth of knowledge about the village and the area. We loved it, and can't wait to go back again.

Thank you for a truly wonderful, peaceful holiday in this beautiful house. We loved fussing over Kevin and Geoffrey. The beach recommendations of Punta Chullera was spot on, what a perfect little cove. We've had a great time, thank you to everyone who has looked after us during our stay. We hope to come back.

We have really enjoyed our stay here, the location is great, the house is wonderful and the proximity to the supermarket is the icing on the cake. Love the mosaics too.

A fabulous decision

We loved it so much that we thought we would come back in the sun! A fabulous decision, it was even better this time around. The pool was amazing and it took us five days to tear ourselves away and explore further afield.

We had great days out at Gibraltar and the Gorge of the Vultures; we walked some of the routes in the housebook and topped it all of with a trip to La Pilata Cave on our final day. All to be thoroughly recommended.

And the best bit? Geoffrey & Kevin, of course! Thank you Emma

We loved everything about it

We arrived, opened the door and felt like in another world. A place just for us. Took photos, sang, made a movie, giggled and wondered. We just felt at home from the beginning. Such a beautiful amazing home in a wonderful "city". Fantastic pool and garden and the housebook is full of great advise and ideas. Thank you Emma for giving us "Your Casa as our Casa". All the best.
